Bio

Niki Yeracaris is a freelance composer, arranger, and violinist/violist from Greater Boston, MA. She enjoys (perhaps too) many different aspects of music-making, though she specializes in adaptive scoring and audio design for games, from retro chiptunes to full orchestral scores. She loves experimenting with sound, subverting expectations, and pushing the boundaries of what adaptive music can be.

Niki graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2022 with a BM in Contemporary Writing and Production, and a specialization in Video Game Scoring. Since then she has been involved in a variety of musical projects. In addition to composing, she performs in many capacities, including with the 8-Bit Big Band. She is always looking for the next challenge, and endeavors to learn and grow with every project she works on.

Niki grew up surrounded by folk music from all over the world; she has a keen ear for global sounds, and one of her missions is to promote and sustain traditional music in innovative (and rather sneaky) ways. She performs with several international folk dance bands in the Boston area, including the Pinewoods Band and her own band, The Dark-Eyed Devojki.

Niki lives with her husband, Julian, and her new sourdough starter, Gram. When not working on music, she enjoys cooking, playing video and board games, and folk dancing.
